The best way to drink NuYu...

We like to think we’re anything but ordinary around these parts. Having said that, lots of peeps think ordinary means ‘versatile’.

While that may be the case, with our snazzy range of plant-based milks can be just as multifunctional as your standard milk. Forget about having to buy one type of milk to make your coffee and another to do everything else with. Sounds lame. And expensive.

Oh no, friends, around here we create products that DO IT ALL. Hot beverages, cold beverages, smoothies, baking, cereals, roux and recipes of all kinds. We’ve gotcha covered.

To help you out a touch or spark some creative ideas, we’ve joined forces with a local cafe legends Little Local Co. in our home town of Adelaide. They’ve given us their favourite things to pair with each of our delicious plant-based milks.

Time to get sipping.

Macadamia milk

Macadamia milk is the hottest (or coolest) milk on the market at the mo.

Our mac milk works well with tasty little numbers like:

  • Mango
  • Turmeric
  • Ginger

The team at Little Local Co. have created a Macadamia Mango Smoothie. She’s healthy, delicious and awfully good looking. Summer is on the way folks, and this is your go-to.

Oat milk

A European fave and now making its way into every coffee shop this side of the equator. So you should probably pop some in your fridge too.

Oat milk pairs perfectly with:

  • Oreos

Yeah, you heard us. If you really want to impress your friends, family or just your tastebuds, they also whipped up a Vegan Oat Oreo Milkshake for you to give a whirl.

Oreos aren’t everybody’s jam. So you can also use oat milk to make a killer Oat Iced Chocolate.

Plant-based milk causes a third of the greenhouse gas emissions of dairy milk. Also, to produce dairy milk you’ll need nine times the amount of land as a plant-based alternative. So if you’ve been watching David Attenborough’s ‘A Life On Our Planet’ and want to make some nature-friendly switches, NuYu is a good place to start.

Pistachio milk

Ooh, exotic, we hear you cry. Yup, pistachio milk often throws people as it’s so new and fresh. You’ll note it doesn’t have ‘barista blend’ on the bottle, as all our other products do. This is simply because some people find it’s unique flavour doesn’t gel with the bitterness of coffee. Others strongly disagree. Look, we won’t tell you how to live your life.

For us, pistachio milk tastes amazing in:

  • Chai lattes
  • Hot chocolates

For a hot choccie with a twist, Little Local Co used Aussie Grounded Pleasures Sicilian Orange Drinking Chocolate and folks, it’s heaven.

Almond milk

One of the first milk alternatives to really cause a stir here in Aus. Once a watery sad beverage, almond milk is now a thick, creamy, delicious king of milks. Besides making a killer coffee LIttle Local Co recommends stir it into:

  • Beetroot lattes

Be sure to use a local Aussie brand for the best results here. We’re big fans of the NutraOrganics Velvet Latte powder.

Cashew milk

Cashew is naturally a very creamy nut. It’s why you’ll find it so regularly utilised in vegan recipes.

It makes for the perfect:

  • Chai lattes
  • Tumeric lattes

Chai comes in all shapes and sizes. Some prefer the real deal, served with a sieve with chunks of spices that have been brewing together. Others prefer the powdered form with a little extra sweetness or spice added. We like Real Chai. It’s an Aussie company and they take their chai very seriously.

If you need to mix up the perfect turmeric latte, we’ve got you covered. There’s a tonne of health benefits to tumeric so it’s simply smart choice to sip on one of these. We can’t help it if it also happens to be delicious. Enjoy, you health guru, you.

Do it your way…

Of course, these are simply ideas. We think our milks fit in all recipes. Don’t just take our word for it, mix it up yourself. Be sure to let us know how you go over on social media. There could be a shout out in it for you.

Happy blending, friends.
